Waking up the next morning in a pool of tears
So much the pillow can't absorb the remains
I'm drowning
To the depths of the ocean of neverending stress
Where whirpools of distress overcome me
Till I hit the icy surface
It's even colder than your heart
But out of the darkness comes a light
The lightest light that's ever entered my eye
Is it Him I see?
It is
He throughs a life preserver into the ocean for me
I grasp it with all of my might
His power is the strongest I've ever witnessed
It hoists me out of the depths into a new light
One filled with love and happiness
An ample supply of smiles from sea to sea
He saved me from my broken state
My God is my hero.

I've started to notice a common theme in my poetry...Super depressing going in, then a super happy ending to close.  Hey, I like happy endings! haha

I'm such a rambler.

Hello there. :)I feel bad that my inspiration's been lacking so heavily.  A lot of my poetry's been so deep, but doesn't seem to make any sense.  Once I get some more work, I'll share ^_^  God is so good.  Got back from Oklahoma City this past weekend for my sister's softball tournament.  That was intense!  It was crazy going from 90+ degree weather to a 60 degree cold front day.  It was refreshing though.  I feel like all I'm doing is rambling right now... I guess that's what happens when you're watching TV, on Facebook, and trying to type :P  Anywhoooo, I'm gonna go on my old Polyvore account and find some old poetry to post!  Later y'all! :)

Stolen Hearts (I wrote this last year)

He stole my heart
Right through the seams
He opened my up
He shattered my dreams
My heart continues to beat
In the pattern of his songs
That he would sing late at night
As we talked on the phone

The last thing he said
was "I love you" then he part
He left without turning back
He left me in the cold
No more hugs to give
And no more hands to hold

The tears streamed down my face
They hit my cheeks as hard as hailstones
My heart shattered fully in two
It was broken apart

The tears I cried, fell onto the floor
They soon formed a river
My eyes swelled shut like an allergic reaction
But I was not allergic to him

Months passed, days went bye
Every day, I'd start to cry
He remained in my memories
He wouldn't leave my head

"God helps the broken-hearted"
That meant so much to me
Although he's gone
My heart is now strong
For I know my God is with me.

Hey there.

Again, my apologies for my lack of posting.  I'm still inspired but time seems to be escaping me these days.  There's just been so much to do, so little time.  I shall begin posting more though!  (This time I'm honest :P)  Anyways, I got back from Tennessee two weeks ago from a homeschool/private school softball tournament.  We came home with 3rd place and the Team Sportmanship award!  It was such a blessed opportunity.  This tournament had something truly special about it.  The tournament itself was truly Christ-centered.  Unlike tournaments I'm accustomed to, we had a worship service every night and opened/closed each game in prayer.  25 people got saved in one night!  It was so refreshing and the atmosphere was wonderful.  I loved playing with my team this season and that we never gave up.  We were down by 6 runs in the last inning, and scored 10 in the very end!  We played for HIS glory.

Wow, I really haven't posted pictures on here in a while!  The photo uploader is so much nicer now :]  These are just some of my recent self portraits.

So I promise I haven't forgotten about this blog.  I find it crazy looking back on posts from the past and seeing how much people change.  I can remember so many feelings from the posts I've typed in the past.  From being crazy and silly, to upset and worried, to "I'm gonna annoy the world with talking about bands 24/7"  Yes, I have grown out of that phase.  I love my music and I'm willing to share it, but I'm not gonna fangirl all of y'all's faces off :P  I still haven't decided if I have a specific purpose for my blog...  According to the page header, it says "Emily's thoughts and ideas".  I guess that means posting what's on my mind.  My apologies for the rambling...  I will definitely work on it ;)  ttfn! <3

Hello again!  It's been a while...a loooooooong while.  I'm wanting to start posting on this blog of mine as I've suddenly gotten this feeling where I really want to write (or type) again.  I'm hoping to start posting on here again after laughing at the fact that I haven't posted anything since July.  Oh well!  I'm hoping to pick it back up as I've gotten inspired.  Expect some more posts soon! :)
Life's been wonderful.  God has blessed me so much.  I've been doing so much lately.  Softball, photography, concert-going, guitar playing, and writing have been taking up a lot of my time.  It's been amazing though!  The past year at my co-op was great.  I'm so blessed to be homeschooled, and to have a co-op where I can hang out and spend time with my friends.

Oh yeah!  I'm playing guitar now!  ...well, learning it at least ;)  I'm starting to learn chords and I hope to be able to play acoustic versions of some of my favorite songs too :)  Also, braces!  They haven't been too bad so far.  I've had them for about 2 months now... I love making the crazy color choices, as silly as that sounds! :P  I can't wait for my teeth to straighten out though.. Someday, someday.

Anyway, this is the time I have for now...  And I WILL be posting more soon!

Hey guys. This past week's been a pretty hectic one for me, but in a good way! Firstly, my cousins came in town! Had a great time with them at the mall, In N Out burger, and Six Flags. It's always great to see them, especially since they live a good distance away.


Six Flags was really crazy. We went on the weekend, (which we typically don't do), and the place was PACKED. I wanted to go on the weekend because there was a concert there I really wanted to see (Friday is Forever Tour: We The Kings, Hot Chelle Rae, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Summer Set, Action Item). Well, before I go on my crazy spill about the concert, I'll talk about the rides... I ACTUALLY RODE A CORKSCREW ROLLER COASTER. Yup. I rode Batman, Shockwave, Mine Train, Sombrero, Runaway Mountain, Judge Roy Scream + many others! SO MUCH FUN.


Now to the concert... First up was Action Item...never heard of them before...but THEY WERE AMAZING! Like really, really gooooooooooooood. Next was Hot Chelle Rae...oh my gosh I love them. Ever since I heard "Tonight, Tonight" on the radio, I've become obsessed. "Say (Half Past Nine)" and "Alright" are pretty incredible too :) They played "Tonight Tonight" last and I kinda screamed my heart out to that! The lead singer's cute too :3 :P Next was The Summer Set...and they were amazing. And they had an album come out today...or yesterday lol. They sang "Chelsea" which made me really happy ^_^. Then We the Kings played which they were PHENOMINAL. Like ohmygoshamazing. They played A LOT of songs (including my favorites!). Then FTSK came on and THEY KILLED IT (in a good way :P). They were amazing!!!!!

Also saw the midnight showing of the last Harry Potter. That was amazing...plus I kinda cried in the end 'cause it's the last movie :').

Then, a week later my mom and I go see Anarbor in concert! There are AMAZING live...like really awesome. I stood in the front row :3

Then came softball nationals. Did pretty well! Won 2, lost 2 brackets...so we finished middle of the pack, but we played some pretty tough competition.

Well that was a crazy month of July! Byes<3

Kinda pointless post

So I guess you can see some things I really like... Nerd sunglasses and band bracelets :) I love both those things. 5/8 of the bracelets have come from concerts I've been to, the other three I just like :-p And my sunglasses I just tend to get when I feel like it lol

This song has been on my mind a lot lately. It still, just a
year after discovering this band (Mayday Parade), is still as beautiful as the day I first heard
it (except the fact that I don't cry anymore ;)). I love
beautiful music...I love the heartfelt lyrics, compassionate tone in the
artist's voice, and personally, I think acoustic versions of songs add
sensitivity to the music. Lyrics that make your heart melt (like the song above), just gives me a indescrible "beautiful and happy" feeling inside. I enjoy music I can relate to.

That band has never broke her heart and has yet to leave her. It's no wonder she finds such joy in her music- Alex Gaskarth
